Hi everyone-

Just want you to know that I am a huge believer in “Nature Rx”: the physical, mental and emotional healing, stress-relieving power of being out in nature. And “Wehr” better to do that than at Wehr Nature Center? Can’t believe it’s come to this but we are asking for support in these challenging times to help keep the center where I work open and functioning so we can provide a nearby, safe outdoor space for folks to enjoy. Our building is temporarily closed, revenue flow has slowed, staff has been partially furloughed, but our work must go on: maintaining trails and natural areas, teaching virtually, continuing community science data collection...

The "Wehr Adventure Challenge" is the Friends group's first virtual fundraiser, and we are excited! So please donate to this effort to keep Wehr open and staff working if you are able, buy our t-shirt, and/or join the family or adult challenges. If you want, you could even be a peer-to-peer fundraiser for us! Most importantly---get out in nature as much as you can, in whatever ways you enjoy the most! Thanks!

Wehr Nature Center (WNC) is an urban nature preserve offering natural history and community science/service programs to all ages throughout Milwaukee County. Staff and volunteers inspire people to explore and value the natural world. Wehr is open daily, year-round.  

Friends of Wehr Nature Center is a non-profit organization that supports and promotes Wehr Nature Center and its  programs. Friends of Wehr believe that every person deserves to have access to nature. Friends of Wehr Nature Center is committed to sustaining an accessible nature destination; a place for all seasons, a place for everyone.

During these challenging times our need for nature's physical and mental healing benefits has proven stronger than ever. And Wehr Nature Center needs your help! Wehr's fall calendar is usually full of events and fundraisers that help support the center financially. At a time when large gatherings are unsafe, was designed. During this three week fundraising challenge there will be something for everyone - a virtual walk, fun challenges, nature experiences and more!
