Wehr Nature Center has been my workplace and my funplace since we landed here in 2005. The natural world has always been an essential part of our lives and the ability to share nature experiences with youth groups, school children, and other citizens in the urban sanctuary known as Wehr Nature Center (and other Milwaukee County Parks) has been a dream come true for me. Now, confronted by a life altering pandemic and unprecedented historical happenings the future of WNC is uncertain. Wehr Nature Center (WNC) is an urban nature preserve offering natural history and community science/service programs to all ages throughout Milwaukee County. Staff and volunteers inspire people to explore and value the natural world. Wehr is open daily, year-round.  

Friends of Wehr Nature Center is a non-profit organization that supports and promotes Wehr Nature Center and its  programs. Friends of Wehr believe that every person deserves to have access to nature. Friends of Wehr Nature Center is committed to sustaining an accessible nature destination; a place for all seasons, a place for everyone.

During these challenging times our need for nature's physical and mental healing benefits has proven stronger than ever. And Wehr Nature Center needs your help! Wehr's fall calendar is usually full of events and fundraisers that help support the center financially. At a time when large gatherings are unsafe, was designed. During this three week fundraising challenge there will be something for everyone - a virtual walk, fun challenges, nature experiences and more!
